Couple of questions out of curiosity.

Where is your coach getting their splits?
Why is it so specific for every mile of every run?
What coach did they train under while here?
What distance is this schedule for?

My reasoning for the questions.
If there’s an exact formula to dial in specific training pace per specific distance, that’d be huge for me. I have only been able to work out approximates and my margin is huge.

I look at your training schedule and it’s incredibly fascinating.

Thanks!

Not sure I can answer all those

We sat down at the beginning for like an hour and a half, went over my race results and some previous runs recorded in Strava. I told him what my goal was (sub 3 hour marathon), when my next race was, where I thought I had gone wrong, etc.

I believe he got initial splits based off my race time from November, and has been adjusting based on my feedback and results I send.

I don’t know why so specific (not all the runs have been that way). He did say this week as we are starting my build we will start narrowing the range and bringing more of my runs closer to goal pace. (We’ve been trying to build base while also increasing lactate threshold, which we have succeeded at IMO)
