If you're going to be a smart arse, at least get the dates right.

Tech was in police cars in the 70s. Two say radio was there 40 years prior.



As for leaving it running, a vehicle is inherently more likely to keep running than it is to restart.

Risk. Reward.

Average MPG for a v8 cruiser is 12mpg, average MPG for a v8 cruiser that is never shut off is 6s and 7s.
