Athlon ranks Matt Canada 17th best coordinator hire this year. Ensminger unranked.

I really hope O knows what he’s doing. My liquor cabinet is running really low.

If you're worried about what Athlon says then you should probably stop watching college football

Matt Canada promised a dynamic, inventive, unique offense and we did not get it last year. We got more of the same.

Canada wasn’t very good at LSU. He’s at his 4th school in 4 years.
Ensminger doesn’t have much to go off of to be ranked.
We won’t know how we faired out until the first game.

That ranking is meh.

Sounds like you should buy more liquor or stop drinking so much of it.

Yup. I’m surprised that he didn’t have the team ranked in the top 20 of offense with a converted corner as the second receiver, the best offensive player hurt for half the season, and an offensive line anchored down on freshmen and first year starters.

I do think canada is a good coach for the right situation. He obviously is fingernails down a chalkboard to other members of coaching staffs though and IMO was a bad hire at LSU looking back with 20/20 vision. I loved the hire myself when we got him btw. But for him to come in with that offense when our offensive line was not only very thin, but recruited to be road graders not finesse guys and our wrs to be also very thin and running all over the place should have been something to worry about. I’d be willing to bet a lot of the coaching staff knew just that before our first game. Maybe he is a better fit at maryland, who knows? Ensminger while not a popular hire will be a better hire for LSU and our personnel I think.

I agree totally.

He reminds of a younger Les when he still wanted to run it and control the clock, but wasn't afraid to throw it either and had the QBs to do it.

I expect more short passing to supplement the run game, but the objectives are similar, at least from my observations and what I took from his recent comments.

I do not consider Ensminger a New Hire as he was already on the Staff and just moved to OC. It is the same for the Coach at Alabama as he was just moved to OC and I think he was coaching like Wide Receivers.
