I would like to see HBO do more mini/short series like they are with shows like Sharp Objects. Bring in quality cast (some high profiled). Those were almost always some of my favorite HBO creations over the years.

They could also institute a tighter ship and get rid of the long layoffs in between seasons. Or maybe even do more than 10 episodes per season. Having a big high profile show that gets attention for two and half months a year obviously isn't enough to maintain demand for seasons.
