So Troy didn't run all over us for most of the game, and the defense couldn't get off the field? Ok sammy

So the offense didn’t score 0 pointsnin the first fricking have turn the ball over 5 times (2 Picks 2 fumble and loss of downs)? Didn’t stall at the Troy 18 yard line for a missed FG

They had under 400 yards total offense. Like 200 rushing yards as a team. It wasn’t great but how are you just ingorong how fricking bad the effense was?

The offense couldn’t score to save their lives.

The offense couldn’t stay on the field. Troy has 12 possession.

Scored 4 times.

well the defense certainly didn't get any help from the offense seeing as how LSU went 0/9 on 3rd downs.

I'm not saying Orgeron interfering with Canada's gameplan is the reason, since the offense admittedly looked like canadas in the second half, but its never a good look when your coach admits he meddled with the offense in a game where his team didnt convert a single 3rd down. maybe O should have taken a page out of Les' book there and opted not to be so candid. you know that thing people begged the head coach to be for years?

I know you guys rag on the defense for Troy and the DL issues for Miss St, but the real problem in all that was the offense. It wasn't until VERY late in the 3rd quarter of the Troy game that we scored for the first time, and that was because we forced a turnover inside of their five. Against MSU, we could only score 7 points all game. They don't score 37 points if we had any kind of a decent offense. After Troy went up 24-7 in the fourth their coach AND players, relaxed and almost lost the game. This is the same thing Miss St did in 2014 that almost cost them the game vs LSU. Them playing soft led to us scoring two more TDs in the Troy game.

Basically, my point is that LSU's offense last year was a freaking joke. The scoring offense was as bad as 2014 when we had a first year starter in Jennings, true freshman in Brandon Harris, true freshman Fournette, true and redshirt freshman in Diarse, Dupre, and Quinn, with our most experienced WR coming in with only 7 catches. Oh, we also had an OL coach in his first year.

I said all that to say that the fact that a super inexperienced offensive unit going against better competition (scoring defenses in country #1 Ole Miss, #6 Bama, #9 Arkansas, #17 Wisconsin, #19 UF, #23 Miss St), did as good as an experienced offensive unit vs worse competition (#1 Bama, #11 Troy/Auburn, #26 Miss St, #31 ND). The 2017 LSU team played 2 power 5 opponents in the top 25 of scoring defenses (3 in top 26), compared to the 2014 team playing 3 in the top 9, 5 in the top 19, and 6 in the top 23. Last year was utterly inexcusable on offense and it had no reason to be.
