jet ski and pontoon boat rental businesses

I imagine they will but Destin is still going to Destin... They simply cannot stand that "non-refined" look for some reason...

We still hit crab island two or three times a year... I have been going there since before anyone thought about a floating business, lol...

It was the same here in PCB, trump flags and American flags everywhere. Someone had a crane going over the bridge with a trump flag and an american flag!

A crackdown is needed, but they are going about it the wrong way. There are spots where the water is less than 2' deep and its great for kids to run around. With that said, those same kids are sometimes exposed to drunk assholes playing inappropriate music and lovely ladies of the OT turning it into an outdoor strip club. I rarely take the boat out during the peak summer to avoid all the idiots who rent pontoon boats and have no idea how to drive.

I think the idea to have more driving lanes and more water depth markers is a good start. This would allow the police to patrol batter and crack down on the trash. Closing the floating bars/restaurants wont do anything as petty much everyone out there brings their own food, alcohol and music. The idiot who recommended dredging the island is one of those who would love to see Destin go back to a quiet spot on the map that no one knows about.

Same here... but I'm in my 20's and I've never even heard of Crab Island. WTH?? From that video that looks like the best water on the panhandle.

When you are crossing the bridge just look to your left.

Been to the Destin area a dozen times, never did Crab Isand. Is late 40s too old? Would I be that creepy old dude at a college bar?

I'm 49 and have been going for 20 years. There are all ages from little kids to 70+ including my parents. Good mix. There are always pockets of groups that look like a frat party, especially this week and Labor Day weekend. Most other weeks its a lot of families and large groups chilling in the water. You're always going to have some idiots like anywhere, but its not hard to stay away from the idiots or you can just hang with them if you want to be one.

We'll be there tomorrow with a family group of 8
