What I don't get is....WHY do people START smoking? Bad for you, expensive, stinks, bad breath, etc..

I think younger people now no longer do it like 20 plus years ago. According to young folks I work with hardly anyone in high school smoked they say, when I was in high school at least half the class smoked or dipped. This was in the 90s, I guess people have just become wiser, I don’t know. I dipped in high school and started smoking at 19 and quit in early 30s.

ETA: Unfortunately I still only while hunting though will dip. Sometimes on my morning hunts I’ll bring a cigar to smoke with my coffee if I’m hunting on the ground waiting on the sun to rise. It’s been long enough now it doesn’t bother me but I never smoke a cigarette. For instance I haven’t had any tobacco since last hunting season

I am neither a smoker nor a hunter, but your hunting ritual has me curious. I’ve always heard deer have an extremely keen sense of smell....better than dogs, even. Hunters go to great lengths to make themselves scent-free, or go the other direction and squirt doe piss all over themselves. Aren’t you potentially spooking off the deer with the cigars and coffee?
