I was a flooring installer through high school and college, and even shortly after college. (FYI--laying ceramic tile in new construction homes in the middle of the summer with an Engineering degree is a humbling experience...)

You can call any of the local stores and they'll put you in touch with one of their installers. Typically the installers are independent contractors, but they develop relationships with Salesmen who determine / recommend their favorites over time.
