Who watches much Bundesliga?
How do we match up with Bayern? I honestly never get to see them play. Seems like the squad is aging, they will try to attack us and leave plenty of opportunity for us to pounce.
Sounds like Robben is out for both legs.

Think they’re strongest 11 right now would be something like this
Coman - Lewandowski - Gnabry
Rodriguez - Thiago - Goretzka
Alaba - Hummels - Sule - Kimmich
Neuer
That said, I would be a little shocked if they didn’t throw in Javi Martinez somewhere. They’re vulnerable on the counter so Javi would help counteract that
This isn’t their strongest side compared to the last 5 years or so but they’re still obviously very good and could give our backline some problems. But I’m hopeful our front 3 is clicking and we definitely have a chance to knick a couple goals on counter attacks

Hopefully, he isn't full strength after his injury on Friday... I know he's been cleated already...
I'd feel a lot better if we could play the mf 3 from last match, however I think Fab will partner Matip..

Checking in from behind enemy lines...
That's pretty accurate as far as an ideal 11 for us. The one change might be Javi starting instead of James for defensive purposes
Coman would be what I would call "doubtful" over questionable, but he'll make the trip. If he can't go, Ribery hasn't been great as of late, so that would be a key advantage for y'all.
Probably our weakest lineup for the knockouts in maybe a decade (if you don't count the times we were so thin at CB that Alaba/Kimmich was forced into that role). Overall feeling is we'll need an away goal or two to have a chance in the return leg at Allianz.
Here's hoping for a competitive pair of matches

Hard to imagine anything else happening. As far as the big powerhouse clubs over the last decade, I’ve always liked Bayern the most. And the few posters that support them on this board have always been solid
While Van Dijk missing the first leg is a killer for us, it’s even worse bc we’re likely gonna have to use Fabinho at cb and he’s been so important to our midfield. Without him there has been problems linking up with the attack at times

I love exciting matches!
But, personally, I'd prefer to make the away leg easier and beat the eff out of you.
Sorry, bro.
Thanks for the rational and civil input (unlike some "mods" in this forum)!

I'm not a Hendo hater, so I think we'll be fine in MF.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see Klopp use Hendo forward in the MF and have Gini drop as the 6 since he's done a helluva job in that role when asked.

Fabinho is set to play as a central defender alongside Joël Matip when Liverpool face Bayern Munich tomorrow, with Jürgen Klopp close to accepting that Dejan Lovren will not be fit in time.

Yeah, not at all surprised by it... Gini-Hendo-Keita in the MF

I'm hoping for this, but I have a feeling it will be Gini-Hendo-Milner.
With Firmino potentially out with a virus, I'd rather Shaq start than Keita.

Boateng out of tomorrow's match
That's a net positive for Bayern, Boateng has not been good this year at all.
You're probably going to be looking at
Coman/Ribery - Lewa - Gnabry
Thiago - Javi - Goretzka
Alaba - Hummels - Sule - Kimmich
Neuer
Bayern will need at least an away goal, maybe two to stay in the tie.

Goretzka trained off to the side today with a mild ankle issue...might be fine, but we’ll see

Bobby is fighting a stomach bug

Bobby seems like the kind of guy that would rather poop himself publicly than miss a match.

Agreed, and I think they need to score first tomorrow, if Liverpool get a goal or two up, the counter is lethal

Even if we win 2-0 tomorrow, I am still very uneasy playing in Munich

Its weird that I am very confident and I have been for pretty much the entire year (except for the lesser cup competitions where Klopp was throwing out 2nd line and teenage experimental lineups).
I know we had a tough January and that VVDs suspension puts an additional burden on the squad at a critical position, but I still feel confident.
P.S. How's the young family, Daddy Byrd? Still powering through the major changes?

I feel pretty confident today, I love that my new work shift means I'm off before kickoff
