People here love to shite on NOLA/South Louisiana but I do this kind of thing all the time and places never have issues with it. It's nice sometimes to live somewhere with a more easygoing attitude (and yes I know that comes with other problems)

To be fair, we don't know what kind of attitude the waiter would have had... all we have is his reaction to a presumptuous butthead that steals soft drinks.
