Electrical Question

First off let me say I know jack shite about electrical issues
I have lights that are on a dimmer in one of the rooms of my house. Just went to turn them on and all 4 bulbs blinked and went off. Bulbs are still good, breaker is still on, and the fan on the same switch panel works fine.
Any ideas on wtf is going on?

Bad switch. Dimmers are notorious for going out.

A loved one who has passed may be trying to communicate with you.

I know how to troubleshoot this. Grab a fork and a glass of salt water.

Very simple. Something is loose. Could be at switch or light fixture.
Did you turn breaker completely off and back on? You can't always tell with visual check.
As far as fixing, if can rule out breaker, turn off breaker and explore where it's loose. I've got several dimmers and none have gone bad. One fan dimmer is over 20 years old.

It’s your switch. If you have led bulbs make sure you buy a dimmer switch specifically for Led bulbs. The low power consumption will cause issues if you mix and match. Led bulbs have to be dimmable as well.
