Do these appointees typically put any value into these recommendations at all?
It seems like a bunch of "yes men"

I know a number of folks who have served and are currently serving. Some of the folks appointed to the position are just figureheads who will rubber stamp whatever they are told.
But some are very smart and independent minded. I actually have some hope that the new group will be an improvement over what we have seen in the past.
