"capitalism" is literally freedom
which means that the outcomes discussed here aren't shocking, b/c freedom breeds inequality

People are terrified of freedom. I get a kick out of people talking about it when I know damn well they want to legislate the hell out of it.

I agree that we are a nation with freedom of opportunity, but not freedom of result.
BUT, those who are at the top do not do so without the help of the government, which means that they were helped by all. So, at some point, their annual income and wealth become obscenely large, and a correction is needed. Fact.

This. Sorry, not everyone in life is a winner. You have to have some losers in society. In this world if you work harder, you should get more. Leeches need to survive for themselves.

I get it, it allows you the freedom to break away from the Hamster Wheel if you work hard enough, but it god damn surely does not feel like freedom when you are pumping the wheel.*
*I am extremely close to getting off the wheel for good, and it is freedom.
