I could go back and search through all the old threads. But it was a lock that he was getting the max. When they traded for him, the max was too low and it made no sense for him to sign. So everyone on here said he was guaranteed to get it and they would have given it to him earlier, if they could. Thats not my opinion or speculation, its a fact. He had the max waiting on him.

Now he gets injured and people want to cut his money or the number of years. Cousins isn't going to like it and if they do it, he is going to say that they lied. He'll be right. The offer was laying on the table for over a year and they yanked it.

Had he not gotten injured, he was pretty much a lock for a max deal. However, that is far from being "promised" a max as you put it. Things change and an achilles injury is about as big a change as there can be for a big man.

It being understood that he was a max level player is different from the team telling him that they would give him a max contract. I doubt they even talked to him about it, because there was no point in doing that before free agency.

Do you see why we're never sure if you're a troll or a crazy old man? This is just nonsensical to think the market for him after that injury wouldn't change. It's almost too crazy to be trolling. Well played.
