Their big money boosters are not liberal and I can assure you putting money into recruiting, inside and outside the rules, has never been the issue. Recruiting in general has never been the issue. They just need to find the right coach

I covered this part.

But the under 40 alumni are not soul selling to win games like Bama folks. They aren't hate fricking their sisters when they lose their 1 game a year.

It just feels different

ETA:

I am friends with 4 or 5 Texas alums that DO NOT GIVE A frick about their football program, even though they love college football. They remind me of UVA fans or something, where they wear the colors and say RA RA at the games a couple times a year, but move along in life afterwards.

Every single one of my Bama friends needs therapy when they lose a game.

So I admit I'm coming at this anecdotally.

You think under 40 alums for Miami and USC were selling their soul to win games? There are plenty of schools in the south that are hardcore about football. The difference between Bama and the others is they have Saban and the others don’t

Give Texas a Saban/Dabo/Meyer and the stuff you’re talking about is irrelevant

And I agree with you by the way. For a big college fanbase overall they are pretty apathetic. They have well monied alums though who care deeply and always will. I just don’t think it’s that important
