It's seems that it's only accurate when it fits the O fan club's narrative. Talk about the #1 WR class last year, it's accurate. Talk about the #15 recruiting class from last year, they suck. Bring up that LSU had the 6th most talented team last year, 247 is full of idiots from Birmingham.
But, when Stingley commits and if LSU goes up in the top 5, people will be starting the "O haters must hate this" threads because the rankings will mean something again then.

It’s based off of PFF score which is incredibly overrated.
PFF is one guy sitting in a room watching every play of the game and grading every player on every play.
Devin is so good and so fast that he has a problem with over pursuing. So he gets bad scores.
The Ole Miss game when Leonard at one point had 7 carries for 249 yds- PFF ranked 3 Ole Miss defenders above Leonard in that game

Yeah this is just the PFF score. Move along, has nothing to do with star ratings.
Star ratings, especially composite, have proven time and time again to be strongly correlated to elite players and high draft picks. Obviously it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty damn good.
And ftr, White would’ve been a 5 Star LB, but insisted on playing RB.

Good. Let them motivate White even more. Guy is going in the first round next year and I can't remember ever being this confident about an LSU LB getting drafted that high.

It was totally based on last years PFF ratings of returning players.
PFF rating is a valuable tool but not perfect and doesn’t fully take into account the value of a player like White. For instance assisted tackles are not necessarily valued.
In other news:
Greedy, Rashard, and Paris (which they explain) are also listed.
I get that many LSU fans look for slights everywhere but this isn’t one. White just doesn’t grade out high on PFF.
