You may catch the tail end of monsoon season. Other than that Bengaluru as it is known is a great city and good night life too. Speaking English should have you covered for the most part..

If it's your first trip to India be prepared for a culture shock but you should have a good time!

Expect a shite ton of people. Don't give anyone money.

If you want to explore, I'd hire a recommended driver. They'll go anywhere you want and be your guide.

I did not do southern India, but if I had time I'd check out Kerala for sure. The southern India temples are different than the north (the tall towers). I'd check a few of those out. Of course, British Raj architecture.

Are you going to be able to leave Bangalore? There's really a ton of places to see. Goa for the beach and Dudhsager Falls by train. Varanasi to see the burning pyres. The Taj of course, Rajasthan, the hill stations, etc. It's a huge country, you won't see it all of course.

By the way, "India hot" food is an inferno. Try it once and then get mild or your stomach will be torn to shreds.

As for monsoon, it wasn't too bad when I was there, but it's all luck anyways. Most of the time it may just rain shortly and be gone. Bad luck you get flooded out for days.

You're either going to love India or absolutely hate it. It's a polarizing place.

They do have Uber if you do not have a car or driver at your disposal. Also another service called Ola, same as Uber.

As far as food goes, avoid uncooked stuff unless you staying in a 4-5 star place (i avoid it even then) and always drink only bottled water. Hopefully you are not strictly a meat and potatoes guy cause you will have a plethora of options available in dining to try out new stuff.

India can be chaotic in appearance but there is a definite method to the madness. ...you will be fine and my guess is you will have a great time.
