Oh, I don't know. Gasoline has no problem jumping the shark when inclement weather is on the way. I don't know why the lumber market would be any different with supposedly doom and gloom on the horizon

This. Plus there is a exchange traded global market for oil. I do not believe this exists for lumber.
I would also guess the dollar spent on oil is several OMs of lumber.
