I used to live in a very old, poorly insulated house with an ac unit that I know was too small for it. In the summer months, it would struggle to keep the home at 75 (it would get up to 78-79 while set at 75). It would run non-stop until about 9pm to get it back down to 75, then until about 10 to get it down to 72.
It was misery.
I feel your pain. Now, the air in my place is 70 degrees year round. frick being hot to save a few pennies.

We built a new house and the downstairs unit has 3 zones.
Kitchen
Living Room/Spare bedroom
Master Suite
I keep my bedroom on 71 at night and the rest of the house at 75. Then my bedroom is 75 during the day.
