Anyone who actually practices economics and deals with real macro functions and not pure, controlled scenario theory understands that if someone unfairly subsidizes or gives advantages to a certain industry and makes you less competitive artificially that the correct economic answer is to equally match it.
Don't get me wrong, I love Friedman/Ricardo tariff theories and completely agree but unless you have the skill set required to understand that conversation it's most likely going way over your head and every time you open your mouth you come off as a fcking moron.

no the correct answer is to seek an effective means to achieve a stable nash where both parties keep tariffs low or zero.
==> multiparty agreement with third-party adjudication/enforcement mechanism is best tool by far, if this is indeed your actual goal, rather than protecting some domestic special interest

But how is the EU, Mexico, or Canada doing that? Yeah, China has been manipulating the market for years. But not these new round of tariffs. All we are doing, is getting into a trade war with all of our closest allies.
