Stop playing. You know CPM is to blame for this.

Don't take away the rantards dream scenario of having a pitcher get hurt so they can blame CPM for it, and make 30 threads about how he over uses pitchers.

I don't think you even need to address blame to have the conversation about what the realities are of Mainieri moving Hilliard out of game 1 and 2.

I think we can all agree that Mainieri doesn't do that unless he doesn't have any other options. It's not a "better safe than sorry" move.

And, with that said, it's hard (not impossible) for me to come up with a plausible scenario where he ends up pitching.

It is very good news that he's throwing today though. I guess this is the start of the routine where they monitor him for continued soreness. I'm guessing that if the soreness exists at any point between now and Sunday, they'll put Hilliard on the shelf.
