Speaking as a vet, we have a day later in the year. Memorial Day is for our fallen heroes that paid for our freedom with their lives. I would include wounded vets also, but guys like me - we deserve no recognition on this day of honor.

Adajax thanks for your statement. I would like to echo what you said. Today is a day to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. For those that thank us on this day for our service is appreciated, but unnecessary. Nov. 11 is our day, and for us Marines, Nov 10 also. My only regret is I wish I could do it all over again. It was an honor and a privilege. Also I would like to mention MOH recipient Mike Claussen. Even though Mike didn't die in combat, he was a friend and a true American Hero. Anybody interested should Google his name, and read his story. Semper Fi Mike!
