I haven't been there in at least 12+ years, and then I only fished it a handful of times. I know it's got some giants and I know that it can be tough as hell.

Fishing a benefit tourney there Saturday with no practice, was wondering if anyone has caught any bass there recently?

If you're talking about Chicot State park (Bayou Chicot is a town west of the park) then yes. I have buddies who bass fish there at least once a week. Sometimes they scratch. Sometimes they catch a handful. It can be a tough place to fish, but you can definitely get lucky and land a 8+ pounder. I watched my buddy land a 6.5 pounder. Another buddy caught an 8.2 pounder last year. They're there, you just gotta gettem to bite.

Eta: As for me, I've caught one or two every time I've gone, but nothing big. I've only scratched once, which is odd because I tend to scratch at other places quite often

Fished a club tourney last month. Frog and Senko was the ticket. Junk fishing though. Couldn’t really get on a pattern. They were both on the bank and off the bank. On trees and off trees. It looked like some were still in spawn mode and some were post spawn. We saw lots of males guarding fry. Only got one to bite. I’d imagine they should pretty much all be in post spawn by now. We caught most of our fish in the community hole.

It's such a weird lake to fish, but I really love it. My grandpa has a 12.08 and my cousin has either 2 or 3 10+ on the wall back when they did the replicas there. My best there was around 6.1, but I missed one on a frog that I still dream about.

Fished there about five years ago with two other people. As beautiful as it was, we didn't get a bite in two days.
Pretty frustrating. It was during the summer.

Grew up not far from there and prior to when they drained the lake ... was one of my favorite lakes to fish. Caught some damn nice white perch/sacalait/crappie there .... back in the day.
