Season one is good. That covers up to where the book ended.
After that, no source material and not so good. Go figure.

As for the politics etc. People are going to see, or not see, boogie men where they want to.

Now, please put this thread out of it's misery.

That's not true. They grew on season one and expanded the story. It would be pretty stupid for them to not expand on the story besides Offred.

Also, you make it sound like tv shows that are originally from books don't do well. Which is completely wrong (Ex. The Leftovers, Sharp Objects, Castle Rock and The Man In the High Castle to name a few)
