Always soak in warm water after using in salt water. It helps dissolve the salt. Also, check the bail and gears for a bit of sand or salt. Both will gum up the works. You probable have some grit in the grease as well. Degrease it and reapply fresh about every three trips.

Sorry, but I don't see any reason or benefit to soaking a reel. Seems like it would do more harm than good, with Salt-Away or otherwise.
