My link below is a thread showing returning production. LSU ranks 122 in the country.
Let's not let the facts get in line with you biases. LSU was top 5 last year in Freshmen and RS freshmen snap counts. We had young players get good minutes at LB And in the defensive backfield. THey weren't "starters" per your stupid stat, but they played and it will pay off next year.
Our CBs are thin, but we have some safeties that can cover like CBS. Our nickel and dime cover guys were likely to be safties anyway, and not corners.
LB looks fine as White solidifies that unit, and the young soph Georgia boys look to be really talented.
And while we lost some veterans, some of the transfers should help, especially along the OL for depth and at DL & WR as well. Your adding Feheko and Shelvin along the line both who didnt play last year. Giles has already garnered #7.

Fwiw, that metric looks at production not returning starters. So it takes into account what those freshmen did when they were on the field, and also the production of Giles and Fehoko at Texas Tech.
It is obviously limited to some extent as it doesn’t project the jumps for players moving from role/rotational player into producer, but Connelly puts together some of the best, most detailed work out there.
ETA: The returning production measure is just one of the variables he uses in his overall projection.

Returning production is now a "stupid stat". Ok then.
