Had he play with, and against the best players available, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. At this time Grambling’s teams would have beat the breaks off LSU. Do some research on the talent of those teams from Doug Williams senior year on back. In the 60’s and very early 70’s only Notre Dame had more players in the NFL.

Dear G O D in heaven. He started both ways, won a National Championship, won the Heisman, was a legit track star, (sub 9.7 100), was the number 1 pick in the draft, and had a long NFL career.
I guess we should just throw out all stats, records, and awards pre Brown vs. The Board of Education??

You’re a retard. While Grambling had SOME good athletes, they’d get smoked by any SEC, Big 8, SWC, Big 10 or PAC 8 team back then, just like now.
Not to mention how horribly outcoached they would be.

There is no historically knowledgeable fan that could disagree with this. Obviously, a down voter would be too young to truly know or too puriticanical to weigh all the good this man did vs. a mistake.
