But how would that reduce school shootings? Nearly every single one of these happen because the kid illegal possess a gun that was legally purchased.

Again, how would that reduce these shootings? And to what degree to we want to hold parents responsible if they engage in absolutely no criminal negligence.

I'm not trying to be stubborn but I've found the problem with this entire discussion is that no one from either side can point to some legislative action that would have any chance of reducing the frequency of these shootings.
