If he makes an impact it will show everyone exactly what we've been saying for years, that all we needed was a QB.

It will also build confidence up in this LSU staff that they actually do know what they're doing and can put together a team from A to Z. With a great season it could kill all doubt if anyone of these guys had any.

Recruits want to play for a winner and if this guy brings that winning mentality back to LSU then it can most certainly help. It could also give LSU time to readjust our QB position. RS Myles Brennen, and they will both be RS juniors by the time Burrow leaves.

Say Myles has a fantastic RS junior year and is drafted then LN can play his RS senior year and do the same. By then our 2019 QB will be in the system for 3 years and he should be ready to go as well. The chain will finally be broken at this position. We just need to keep these QBs and let them know that you can't play as a freshman in this league unless you're a once in a lifetime type of QB. It just doesn't happen that often. It's much better to come in and sit behind QBs that have been doing it for years. Sit, grow and learn.

That's the new LSU way or should be at this position. Even if we do land a QB who can play at a high level early. You let him sit unless we just don't have a proven winner back there. There's no way I'm taking a freshman over a junior or senior if that QB is a winner. This could restart the whole process over. So stack the roster up with 4* and 5* QBs and let them sit, grow and learn. Prove to them that this is the formula that works at LSU. Next year we will have the horses at RB again so it's going to work out perfectly IMO.

This is huge for LSU. Joe Burrow is going to get lots of love down here on the bayou. Maybe it attracts other northern, north eastern, or west coast QBs as well? Never know what this might do for LSU. Let do this Mr. Burrow.

Most of McClendon's QBS didn't start until their junior year. Ensminger, Woodley, and Trimble being the exceptions I can recall right now. The first two started as Sophs after Pat Lyons git hurt. The last one started as a Fresh because Miley left and Broussard was the only thing left in the stable and Trimble eventually converted to WR as he couldn't pass that well. Think Moreau was also in stable, but his time at QB was limited at LSU as the position and him were not a good fit and he eventually moved to defense. Prior to these disruptions in the 70's Mac would normally bring in a pair of QBS, they learned and git their chance as Jr's while another pair of youngsters were brought in to repeat the process.

I'm going to summarize your post into a single statement, correct me if I'm wrong:

A QB like we anticipate Burrow being will highlight all the other talent we bring in regularly and should spark/improve it overall.

This mindset needs to be broken by the coaching staff at LSU. Did you not watch the National Championship game last year? Two SEC teams battled it out with true freshman at QB. Hurts also made the title game the year before as well. Did Alabama just happen to have two once in a lifetime QBs in back to back classes, or do these coaches know what they are doing when it comes to QBs?

I'm not saying every QB should come in and play as a freshman, but we shouldn't need guys to be here for 3 years before they can contribute. That's antiquated in today's college football environment.
