Why do it on international flights? They will be checked at Passport Control and Customs anyway, why a third time on the plane? They are already going to get inspected upon arrival.

Don't see the need for it on Domestic flights. Why not busses then? Trains. Oh for those in cars, passport checks at every toll booth. You really want that?
