I mean, it doesn't hurt to add him, but I'd have preferred to see the club go after someone who seems to provide the threat for 8-10 goals Hamsik has chipped in the last few years.
Nonetheless Chelsea have fricked this summer up waiting so late to get rid of Conte and bring on Sarri and waiting last minute to get some of these deals done. That’s part of the problem
This will probably be a growing pain year for Chelsea I’d bet, similar to how Klopp’s first year with us went. He’ll give everyone on the squad a chance, then after this year no mercy and he’ll see where he truly has to upgrade. That’s where a lot of the progress will be seen. That’s of course if Roman actually gives him time to build his project

Yeah, I'm most angry about waiting til the last second.
We scoffed at the fee for Allison a month ago and are being forced to pay even more now on a GK. We're trying to implement a complex system with a lot of players who probably aren't suited for it. We got our manager in late and he couldn't assess the squad properly because it's a World Cup summer.
They better be patient with him because they put him in an awful position to succeed initally. There's a reason he joked with ADL that Napoli would lose their first 7 matches when he took over. It's not easy to implement his tactics, and he's got a late start with a squad he doesn't necessarily love.

AC Milan have held a meeting this lunchtime over a possible deal for out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Italians want to sign the former Monaco man on an initial loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
Chelsea are willing to offload the Frenchman as they make room for the arrival of another midfielder in the form of Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic.

Wolves have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Oleksandr Zinchenko, Sky Sports News understands.
However, the transfer depends on whether the Premier League newcomers can persuade the versatile Ukrainian to leave the reigning Champions.
Zinchenko would cost Wolves £16m, and City are prepared to let him leave for that price but Nuno Espirito Santo has yet to persuade the player to make the move.

I don’t think Zinchenko wants to leave, but he needs playing time. Hoping he joins the good guys, so as to help balance the Portuguese to non-Portuguese ratio.

Real Madrid's statement regarding the deal to sign Thibaut Courtois has a bit more detail in it.
The Spanish club say the Belgium international will be with the club for the next six season and will be presented at the Bernabeu at 1pm tomorrow after a medical.

BREAKING NEWS
Chelsea have announced they have agreed terms with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of Thibaut Courtois, subject to the agreement of personal terms and the goalkeeper passing a medical.
Subject to the completion of the deal, Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic will move to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan.

@TonyKhan
We’re not selling @ryansessegnon. We’ve never considered it! I couldn’t sit back and read these false rumors anymore, had to say something. Ryan’s key to this @fulhamfc squad; he’s one of the top young talents worldwide and in our plans for @premierleague success. Come on Fulham!

Tottenham left-back Danny Rose could be in line to make a shock loan move to Bundesliga side Schalke 04, according to Sky sources.
As reported by Sky Sports News last week, Spurs are willing to listen to offers for Rose alongside Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele.
Left-back Rose has faced an uncertain future since criticising the club's ambition and wage structure in 2017, for which he subsequently apologised.

The amount of players Spurs have offloaded on Schalke is kind impressive.
I support them in the Bundesliga pretty much because it's like watching Spurs+Friends.
