My grandfather turns 94 in a few months. He still has his health and makes to every big event. Your parents just didn’t like your family.

12 hours away because that's what the OP is asking his parents to do? It's a little different because of his daughter's challenges, but to ask two people to go to Illinois is a pretty big ask. He should have explained to them how big a deal it would have been to his daighter and if they still don't come its on them. Acting like a baby and telling them he "was going to punish them" didn't help I'm sure.

I think this is where I am hurt mostly. Could be self inflicted. It is never a one sided story.
