4A is the most boring classification in all of Louisiana for football and basketball. I agree 100% with your theory.

Neville and Karr's championships in a lot of eyes are nominal at best. Lost a lot of respect for Neville. Don't think they don't mind staying in 4A knowing when they have a really good team they likely have only 1 game with any difficulty in the playoffs.

Demographics has a lot to do with it. We are one of the few states with negative population growth. A lot of the small schools are built to be small and are fine because of it. Many people are moving into areas that flow into these big 5A schools because those are the best areas to live in the state. What you have is the middle classes, 3A and 4A, left with some quite terrible teams from sinking areas of the state. IMO coaches either want a simple job at a small school or a glory job at a 5A so getting coaches in to develop talent at a 3A or 4A is tough too. Not saying they don't have good athletes in those classes, it's just really poor product.

Damn that is some deep thinking right there baw.

And I like it. Makes logical sense and sense I haven't given it as much thought as you I won't disagree.

Very few schools like Sterlington where growth is happening. I believe they will be 4A in the next couple years time. We need to abolish 5A and recreate the school census line for 3A and 4A. Allow top tier teams to play up into 4A if they wish also.

Something needs to be done but the LHSAA is a laughing joke and won't do shite.
