Doctors aren't perfect.
Sad case though.
Not necessarily, but it is like the highlights of a lazy diagnosis

Sounds like an abscess. If it's not ready to be drained, that's the treatment. Warm compresses with antibiotics (assuming some cellulitis).

If she had no signs of sepsis, then why do you think this? Doctors in her part of the country aren’t used to checking for infectious diseases from the beach.

A "kind of painful pimple" is not uncommon. Necrotizing fasciitis is rare. I'd be interested to hear statistics on early detection that avoids the need for hospital care with extensive debridement.

No doubt. Every arse pimple should be admitted directly to the ICU STAT and immediately placed on cardiopulmonary bypass. I mean, that's SOP/Medicine 101.

How would you have treated it Dr. House?
This sounds like classic Monday morning quarterbacking. I love how people expect nothing bad to happen if a doctor is around, all while complaint that they make too much and healthcare is too expensive. life still happens. shite still happens. Do you honestly expect to never hear of someone dying from an infection?
If every doctor started culturing and treating every butt pimple with the most expensive antibiotics y’all would be screaming even louder how expensive healthcare is and medicine shouldn’t cost this much.
