Not sure 'hijacking' is the right word here, but i'm out of my area of expertise (not that i have one).

Are there WIFI systems that can hook into my existing alarm and montior activity via a Smartphone? even a text message or phone call, or maybe an notifcation via an App?

I'm not using my system at all now, just wondering what possibilities are out there besides paying $40 a month for monitoring.

The term is "takeover" and knowing what model you have will help with an answer.

Find the IP addresses of your camera system and remote into them. Once you get that and other specs set you'll be able to view them from any web browser via the IP in the address bar.

ETA: assuming they are connected to the internet.

Well i dont actually have cameras, but i could easily run a ethernet to the security box if i needed to.

What i'm talking about is just something to alert my phone when a door or window opens if the system is armed.

does something like that exist?

Here's the 2018 catalog for DMP, which is who makes your panel. LINK Page 75 has some network communicators.

May want for verification from Tigerwise, but I couldn't find anything for your system. From what I could find DMP is a dealer brand, so not sure you could easily get stuff to DIY.

I'd recommend replacing the panel and keypads with Honeywell 20P panel and get this. I have my alarm panel connected to the version 3. You would be able to set up text messages or emails, both to multiple people if needed. I also have it tied to my home automation system so I can monitor and arm it that way as well.

Since your house is prewired it would be easy to replace the system. Total cost would be about $200.

Not that familiar with DMP but what you are saying sounds correct.

I didn't watch the entire video on Konnected, but it looks like it only works with wired sensors, does not work with your existing keypads, and you must have a Smartthings Hub or a Home Assistant setup.
