He didn't "gain traction" because nearly everyone voted for other candidates.
P.s. It wasn't a tractor pull.
He wasn't a rich man or a general. He said we didn't need the civil rights act. Market forces would have ended jim.crow. Fool.
That made it a certainty he could not win. Its nearly at a level of denying the holocaust.

This is a truth. Individual markets will always fail when they act outside of the sense or interest of the consumer.
