and jt barret would have been a 1st-2nd rounder if ohio state won the championship

Um......No, he couldn't beat out CARDALE JONES as the starter lol. He is a good leader, and athlete but he has a slow release and below average arm strength.

We are severely lacking in depth behind Drew period....but Silvers has a better release, accuracy and arm strength than Barret. REALLY would not want to rely on ANY of them though lol

Barret's Draft Profile:

quote:

Weaknesses
Operation time and ball handling are a little slow
Not a naturally accurate passer
Makes receivers work too hard
Ball placement can be a struggle even on swing passes and short throws
Completed a measly 28 percent of his throws over 21 yards this season
Seam curls come wide open and he will opt for safe throws in middle of the field
Misses opportunities to challenge safeties
Gets it out a step late on intermediate and deep throws
Halts progressions early rather than allowing route development
Three-quarter release makes him short in the pocket and allows defenders to maul his pass attempts
Release and arm strength are below average
Allows rushers to get on top of him

Silvers is only in for a tryout, right? Hoping he does well enough to get signed. I'd like to see what he can do.

As others have said, we're screwed if Drew goes down. Really looking forward to seeing Taysum Hill in preseason to see if he can manage the offense. I think he has that "it" factor. Savage is straight garbage.

Every year it's the same though, no one we've had as the back up to Drew could be counted on to win games. shite, Daniel, McGown, Daniel again, Grayson, they all sucked.

I'll say this though. Brees would have to carry the team before. Now we actually have a team of talented youngsters to support Drew, offensively and defensively. Whomever wins the backup spot is in a better position to succeed than in years past.
