How do you not catch anything at the chandalier islands? Crazy. Must have been a bad day

Good question. I only saw 2 fish actually caught. And I think they were Spanish Mack because the group went back to their boat and made lunch almost immediately after. 4 guys at another spot had 1 nice trout and 1 red. They had been fishing since dawn and that was about 9:45am.

I hooked something toothy. Big run and snap at the hook. Caught a hardhead. Dude I was with caught a 8” spec. Couple light strikes.

High tide was about 1:30pm. Water was murky but not terrible. Most of the people I talked to this week said it’s slow during the day due to the full moon. As I was leaving at 3pm a few skiffs were filtering back. My guess was to hit the falling tide into the evening.

That's how it goes with island fishing (Freemason, Chandy, Breton, Gosier, Curlew, etc..) very much boom or bust. However it's usually an enjoyable day either way. See big tarpon rollin every now and then out there which is a fun deal.
