You’re seriously trying too hard but I’ll play. Because its supposed to be the one thing he can do well. He hasn’t done very well at it so far. Mainly in the lack of overall planning but we expected he’s screw that up. So, if the guy says he’s going to lock down the state and then fails, well, then its a fail. Don’t make it so easy to see through you lame attempt to lower the bar before a failure. It makes me worried

My GOD.....

The dummies.

When O took over, he had limited time to make the recruiting class his. And, he avoided disaster. He closed on some kids that we weren't even in the running for.

In his first full year, there were significant, and I mean significant holes in our roster. And unfortunately for him, he had to used Schollies to fortify certain areas that he otherwise would have used on more high profile players. But, it's what he had to do.

He also got a few players signed with LSU that everyone had written off, like Chase. The Surtain loss hurt, but with such limited numbers he had to trust Surtain and then it was too late to pull in someone else. I do think the only error is that he should have signed MG and dropped someone else much earlier in the process. (And to his (and everyone's) surprise, Tolliver left early).

I do also think he is failing at recruiting QB's. And if that doesn't change quickly, he needs to go. You cannot turn a program around without recruiting quality QB's each and every year.

To call him a failure though, is UTTERLY STUPID. He has actually has a very methodical approach to recruiting and has done just about everything right.

Year after year, we watched Miles over recruit certain positions and ignore areas of need. He also lost out on a ton of players and that hasn't happened nearly as much with O. O, by far, is managing the roster far better, and it will continue to get better (assuming he signs QB's).

But holy cow the football iq of our posters.....

So then miles didn’t squander a bunch of talent? I was told he did Les with more.

And LSU didn’t even use all 25 of its scholarships, so that’s wrong too.

I don't see how you can say this when Orgeron didn't sign a single CB, which was probably one of the biggest area's of need.

It seems like Orgeron is doing the exact same thing Miles was doing. He's neglected certain areas while heavily investing in others. The only difference is he's just flipped which is neglected and which is focused on from what Miles was doing.

Just for the record, Ed O was the recruiting coordinator under Les Miles and had significant input on several classes prior to taking over as head coach.

There has been a lot of revisionist history around here on this point.
