by appealing to both sides of political leanings, to make it interesting versus a bunch of noise most people can't stand to listen to

Is CNN's market share/ratings higher now than when they used to be more of just a straight news network?

If it was PURELY about profit, CNN would realize that their numbers have been going down as Fox News's have been going up and would do something different to try to change that.

That , however, is not the end goal here. These people are willing to damage their own reputations and bottom lines in an attempt to destroy Trump.
