re: What’s the best bottle of wine you’ve ever had!

The wife and I traveled through Italy for two weeks in 2012. Other than some trips to Napa/Sonoma, we’re not big in to wine but we drank a ton on the trip. We end our trip in Florence and find a little wine shop to grab a few bottles to bring back. We asked the guy for one of his favorites and he went strait for a 60-70 euro bottle. He said “this is once in a lifetime bottle. Don’t even share it with family” I thought he was just upselling some local crap, but figured, why the hell not.

We ended up taking his advice and opened the bottle after our first kid was born. It was a 2010 Il Marroneto Brunello that was amazing and perfect for the occasion.
