Look it is going to be a battle there isn't any doubt about it. When you think about great defenses both Bama and LSU come to mind and obviously having great "big men" is important to both defenses. Sopsher is the #1 rated DT in the country so you better believe Saban is going to go hard after him especially since Sophser lives close enough to Bama.
But damn don't give up on O and LSU so quickly because as important to Bama is Sopsher he is that much more important for us to keep Sopsher in state, so you better believe O is going all out also. I know it is going to go down to the wire but I am going to believe in LSU as long as possible.

He can disagree all he likes, I’ll still take the word from the horse’s mouth:

I have my eyes on one college right now, and after going to these different colleges, I got a feeling that you get when you feel like it’s home already. I’m feeling that school and that’s what makes me want to commit.

They aren't true LSU fans no matter how much they say they are. Don't waste your time you will never change their minds because they are too small minded
For a second I thought this was about politics.

None of those guys was the top recruit in the state.

So not true! #1 player on the board is Stingley! Not saying Sopsher wouldn't be a big loss but we are recruiting DT/DE across the nation. We not doing what we did last year and trusting a kid's word on heading to LSU. Many more big fish out there so we ain't playing that game anymore! If he don't come then let Kendal whip is arse!
Posted on 4/26/18 at 1:06 pm to bluebengal
Composite rankings say Sopsher. Not saying Stingley isn't worthy.

I could care less about composites! CB is our #1 need in this recruiting cycle

No offense, Spiegs is the biggest homer reporter I've ever seen. He thinks everyone is going to LSU. He's wrong more times than not.
Let me tell you this. Over the past two years, LSU's "insiders" have been strayed down the wrong path many times with wrong info.
There are one or two Bama guys who know their stuff. They called PS2 to Bama early in January and are on record saying that as long as Sam P is at Bama, Sopsher is signing with the Tide.
Listen man, I want these kids to be Tigers. But at the end of the day, these kids and their families know what's going on. Have you noticed how many schools are recruiting Louisiana right now? Before, many of them (besides a few) wouldn't waste their time nor resources.
They realize the time is now to come in and poach these kids. Can you guess why? I'll hang up and listen.

Yeah but there is zero excuse for losing out on the #1 recruit in the state that plays d-line when our coach is a d-line specialist. No excuse.

Booger McFarland started early his freshman year. Was a stud.

Nope, IF some of them start getting La players to commit I might notice.

If they don't get players they should have continued to not waste their time and resources.

I guess the #1 WR from 2018 and the #1 OG in 2019 - Terrace Marshal and Kardell's families were kept in the dark somehow. How terrible nobody has told them. Someone needs to let Maurice and Tyrion know.

Dude you'll never convince me to be a pussy. If you want to get your panties in a wad and roll over into a fetal position over rumors about one recruit that MAY or MAY NOT even come to fruition go for it.
Leave me out of your miserable cryfest. I don't play that shite.

Doesn't really matter both players are SERIOUS wants in the class, who really cares if one recruit is 1A and another is 1B? We need both of them in this class and losing either one will hurt no matter if it were Stingley or Sopsher.
So let's just be positive until signing day and hope that LSU's coaching staff will succeed in putting a fence up around the state in 2019 and also in 2020 for that matter.
Way too much negativity on TD whether in the rant or recruiting.

How idiotic can you get? Did it ever occur to you that some players have legitimate reasons for selecting another team or just to get out of state? That area is apparently pretty well known for producing players who like to suck midget dick.
What if a kid comes out of the womb colored red and wailing "Bama, Bama, Bama" and never changes his mind, but LSU manages to get three 4-5 star D-linemen elsewhere? Would you still be vomiting "no excuse?" Just admit you're O-negative. It will feel good to get it off your chest.

I'd personally love for O to succeed, anyone who does good for LSU should be appreciated.
However, losing out on Sopsher would be seen as really really bad, and there's no way to spin it, especially if it's to Alabama. You either get those type of kids to start beating the likes of Bama, or it will never get better because they still can come in and hand pick some of the best in our own state. The issues around that area have been known for YEARS, doing nothing to fix it and just continuing to say Bama runs that area doesn't help the situation.
Shut them out and get the best to stay home. A LOT of folks gave Orgeron a pass when he was interim and we lost Smith, Mathis and Allen because it was a transitional year. He's now 2 classes in and when the talent gets rich in the state like it has for 2019, he needs to do what he said and keep those top kids here. Even he wouldn't make excuses now.

Really? You mean other schools are going to come into Louisiana and recruit Louisiana players in a year "2019" that it is known in ALL recruiting circles that Louisiana is loaded in 2019 recruiting class and it is not just a top loaded class, it is loaded top to bottom. Given that LSU can only sign 25 recruits in 2019 so it just seems logical that other coaching staffs are recruiting in Louisiana. Try to put your brain in gear before typing! This is not new news and everyone knew this was going to happen in 2019 no matter who was coaching at LSU!!!

on record saying that as long as Sam P is at Bama, Sopsher is signing with the Tide.
Even without the ex-Amite coach at Bama right now Bama is a tough place to recruit against because not only do they have probably the best college football coach of all time still coaching there but they have won 3 national championships in the past 5 years. That is a HUGE draw for all recruits, especially ones that are thought of as the best of the best. Everyone wants to have the fruits of their labor payoff and that to an amateur football player means winning championships and getting to the NFL. Well at this moment in time Bama is the best at combining both those goals together, and there is no argument in that. And having Sam P at Bama makes it that much harder to get a kid out of Amite in Saban truly wants that player. But it ain't over with Sopsher until the fat lady sings and you can bet your last dollar that O is going to go to war over Sopsher, so don't sell LSU short until the signing is done and it ain't ANYWHERE near to being done on either side LSU or Bama.
quote:

No matter what any nega-tiger says, Coach O is a phenomenal recruiter. All you have to do is stop listening to the noise from people who DON'T know and listen to what these recruits say when they talk about Coach O!!! Why don't you go read what they say, that will prove right there what kind of a recruiter he is. And this isn't a secret every coach you talk to that has coached with or against O and they all say he is a GREAT recruiter. So my take on this is they see some blood in the water and they don't want O to be successful at LSU because they know if he is successful recruiting such a fertile state as Louisiana will become impossible if O is successful at LSU. And that now is the time to strike if they can help make a dent in LSU's recruiting in Louisiana this year, then O's demise might come that much quicker.

I thought O was supposed to change all of that.
What's the appeal of hiring him if the exact same recruiting paradigm exists as it did before him? He was supposed to be a guru, right? Fence was going back up, right? Now I hear excuses. Fricking sickening.

Exactly!!!! You can put Coach O and Trump in the same category. So-called "LSU fans" want O to fail so much that they actually want the LSU football team to fail so O is fired.
