but I do enjoy hearing all the excuses for Saban in this thread. He played a tough schedule and had crummy players is why he went 8-5 in his 3rd season at LSU wow. Seems the greatest wouldn't need to be defended with excuses.

But regardless who cares, the only thing that matters now is this coming season. Glad to hear you all (claim) to be for the LSU Tigers this coming season even with Orgeron as the HC. If he has a good season you will change your minds on him and if he has a bad season I (we) will (not change my mind as I will wait and see) see he is not a good HC coach for LSU.

You brought up 2 similar records that happened 15 years apart. Do you have a better way to evaluate them besides the schedule, the players each coach had and the culture that each coach inherited?

How do you judge the quality of wins and losses at the end of the season?

When exactly did explanations become “excuses”? In all seriousness you do understand that circumstances are different and fluxiate over time right? I’m sorry friend but tunnel vision of comparing just the final record does not give the whole picture. I’m sorry if you don’t like to look at the deeper picture, you should just watch the games and not come to a message board to discuss. You and all the CheeriOs also need to get past this notion that’s every one needs to like the coach and not criticize him at all
