How, in the name of all that is holy, could a baseball NIT be profitable in any way, shape, or form?

I'm not sure, but since I don't work for the company that's trying to start, I don't need to come up with ideas. As a fan, I want more baseball.

Something like 120+ teams play in post season basketball tournaments. Around half of FBS football teams go to a bowl. Baseball has one of the smaller percentages of teams making the postseason. Even when it comes to conference tournaments.

IMO, they would probably want to start small to keep the expenses down. Maybe 8 teams with a best 2/3 every round. On campus games for the first two rounds, neutral location for the championship. Something like the USA Baseball complex in Cary, NC.

Have USA Baseball involved, that brings funding. Have MLB involved, as it would act as another scouting avenue, that would bring more funding. It could be shown on WatchESPN or get a rights deal with FoxSports and stream on their app or air it on their regional networks.
