I agree - boxing has grown to have too many. I think MMA can handle it at this time as mentioned above. But I don't know if those divisions will always be like this. Historically they have been pretty full of talent. But what if they get diluted in the future - then it turns to shite.

Lower weight classes won’t get diluted unless weight cutting rules become more strict
