I think the housing collapse in 2008 demonstrates that the economy doesn’t work this way.
Eh, I'd say that's a little simplistic.

This is the whole argument in a single sentence.

No one that has ever argued with you has been right, though. You've never been wrong about anything despite being just above a 6 year old in terms of intellect.

Absolutely not. I don't know how you got that out of my statement.

At least in most cases, travel ball is an effort to make your son better at something, and help him make friends instead of just compensating for a small penis like with cars and diamonds

I mean, that's wrong, and I'd be the first to admit it.
You specifically have never said anything intelligent to me though.

This is a problem with Americans in all income brackets, but more so those with smaller incomes.
I love how we're acting as if this money management issue is one that is ravaging the households making greater than $200k a year.

I would worry less about the people with high incomes and buying nice things, and more about the people making a modest income trying to buy redneck status symbols.
I don’t think anyone is saying that it’s exclusive to high earners. I think the point is that just because one makes a lot of money doesn’t mean they can afford any luxury item they want. Lots of high earners have a “spend what’s in my pocket” mentality, don’t budget and over leverage themselves.
Again, not all, but way more than there should be.

You can't fix genetics with $500 checks to your kid's coach.
I don't usually give advice like that for free but I think you might need it.

Well you're wrong in this thread about people over extending debt and over spending is good for the economy. That is common sense wrong, I'm not wasting my time explaining elementary shite to you. Also, I put a comma in a sentence in a thread about a month ago to which you said was grammatically incorrect. Again, you were wrong.

You say this a lot without ever actually saying anything.

I love a good deflection.

This is actually more true with low earners. That's why this is an odd angle to take with regard to spending on luxuries.
Those with higher income have greater liquidity when you compare across income brackets.

Ask Drew Breese about diamonds

I don’t play travel ball, nor intend to put my kids in that, but at least there’s some redeeming qualities to putting your kids on a sports team as opposed to them sitting on their asses playing Xbox.
There’s no redeeming qualities to buying gaudy diamonds and fancy cars other than showing off.

That's not a deflection. It's a concrete example of when you were wrong and I was right. That is something you said I have never done, which again, is wrong. That particular time I posted a link to I believe a UCLA published article that explained the use of the comma.
I think you misunderstand the term "deflection."

False.
