By wRC+ (which puts a hitter relative to league average and accounts for ballparks and eras), Mike Trout's worst hitting season is better than Ken Griffey Jr.'s best (excluding Mike Trout's initial call-up in 2011.) Ken Griffey Jr was great and fun and everyone loved him, but Mike Trout is better than him.

Agreed.

That the Angels haven't been very good the past few seasons doesn't help with Trout's image. If they continue winning this year and Trout stays on his current pace then I'm sure people will come around. He has potential to be GOAT material and would have a HOF case if he retired today.
