So, what is the norm these days amongst young people would you say? Kids first, then marriage, or marriage then kids?
40% of children are born out of wedlock. So it would seem to me most people get married first.

That’s everyone, and still pretty horrible, but I’m talking about young adults only
quote:
In a study tracking the first wave of millennials to become parents, a team from Johns Hopkins University recently found that 64 percent of mothers gave birth at least once out of wedlock. Almost one-half had all of their children without ever exchanging vows. The findings echo a separate study from 2012, which found that, among women under 30, more than one-half of all births happened outside of marriage.

Why does it matter?
It matters, morality aside, because children from single parent households have a very very likely chance of living in poverty. When you consider the fact that 71 percent of all black births are to single mothers and considering the poverty they rarely ever escape from, it kind of drives the point home that the vicious cycle is what keeps them bound to it.
Now true, vows mean less than they ever have in society, but no vows at all certainly don’t help matters one bit.
