that's a rant myth. No such thing. However there are many 'LSU FANS' who want to see him be given a chance because if he succeeds then LSU succeeds and vice versa. Some LSU fans don't spin a negative light around everything he does and give credit where credit is due and where there is not, they want to see improvement. Just as they would do with any LSU coach. Same as Miles, as Sabin, as Dinardo, etc.

What were the 2016 and 2017 seasons if not a chance?

When you're happier with 9-4 under one coach over another, and don't expect more, there's at least some credence to liking one coach more than the other.

Just as there are many 'LSU FANS' who want nothing more than the best for the program, and don't think the current leader is equipped to get there, nor do they think he is worthy of 'a chance' based on his history. With that said, they are happy to give credit where credit is due, when positive trends are uncovered and consistency is proven. Some fans care about the institution and the football program and don't automatically cheer a head coach or rationalize when evidence may point to a different trajectory.

You should hop over to the thread where Les Miles won with Saban's players and where Miles' recruiting is brought into questions, which raises the significant quandry of was Miles recruiting well, but was a bad coach, or was Miles' not recruiting well but was a good coach. This is still yet to be determined - apparently.

I think as long as he continues to be a reactive coach instead of a proactive coach people are going to continue to doubt his decisions.

I can only speak for myself and say that I believe there's a chance it comes together this year, although I don't believe it's going to happen. The off season changes and the coaching staff make some sense on paper, but they did last season as well. That is why you get the "I'll believe it when I see it" comments so often.

Thing is, I measure O based on who came before him, which is fair because we fired the last guy to get him. What has he done better than Les Miles thus far? I see nothing in all honesty. Tell me what he's done better.

Is the offense better? No.

Is the defense better? No.

Are special teams better? No.

Is our win/loss record better? No.

Is recruiting better? No.

Show me all of these great things he's done since he's gotten here.
