Am I missing a ton of details re: rain wilds, dragons, etc? Enough to stop and read those in between trilogies before starting the last Fitz and fool book?
You've pretty much already missed the connections to the Rain Wilds books by the end of book 2 I think. When they travel to the Wilds in book 2 all the characters you meet in that location are from those books. So it adds a bunch of backstory and history to those characters (and of course you are spoiling the heck out of those series by not reading them first), but that's about it.

So how many books are in this series - is the world developed like some of the other huge worldbuilding series?

I fricked up and connected my kindle to the internet and the library took their book back. I stopped when Fitz goes through the stone with per and Lant. WTF.
I’ve got the third book in queue. It’s killing me now
ETA: suggestions after I wrap up Hobbs works?
